Pedro Batalla Xatruch

Tarragona, 1893 - 1968

He was a disciple of Ángel Andrade, Félix Mestres and Vicente Climent.

Batalla was, without doubt, one of the major exponents of Catalonian painting in the twentieth century. His work encompasses a broad range of landscapes, seascapes, still lifes and portraits, like the three owned by the UEE Collection (1953, 1957 and 1960).

During his lifetime his oil paintings were exhibited at a number of individual exhibitions at various galleries in Barcelona, and today they are on permanent show in the Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona.
